Volunteer

USGBC-Co is looking for volunteers to help with the following items:

General

  1. Create, update and maintain chapter green building resources
  2. Support branch development throughout Colorado
  3. Connect new members with opportunities to get involved

Northern Colorado

  1. Create membership informational form to recruit members
  2. Connect new members and volunteers with opportunities for involvement
  3. Input and update member information to mailing list
  4. Assist in planning the USGBC-Colorado fall conference

LEED Regional Credit Colorado Committee

  1. Participate in developing a western regional credit for LEED v3

Green Schools

  1. Help draft a letter to PTA/Os inviting teachers to participate in the Sustainable Schools Summit
  2. Compile schools best practices
  3. Reach out to Schools leaders and administrators, tell them about the importance of green schools
  4. Green the Sustainable Schools Summit

Learn LEED®

  1. Plan monthly LEED certified building tours
  2. Support LEED AP exam Study Guide sales
  3. Organize LEED workshops and educational sessions
  4. Coordinate LEED study groups

Communications

  • Design USGBC-Colorado graphics           
  • Create, maintain, and update a variety of database solution
  • Write articles for Colorado Building Green Newsletter

Education

  1. Oversee a K-12 green building competition
  2. Coordinate monthly evening programs
  3. Coordinate collaboration presentations at monthly Chapter meetings (10 minutes each by other organizations)
  4. Develop periodic tours
  5. Community outreach presentations:  USGBC-Colorado sustainability & LEED presentations
  6. Speakers Bureau
  7. Liaison with Governor’s Colorado Energy Office
  8. Lunch presentations
  9. Lunch roundtable discussions on specific topics
  10. Coordinate education activities with related organizations
  11. Sustainable education programs for teachers (K-12, college)
  12. Sustainable & local products, materials, and services information on-line.  Coordinate/collaborate with AIA-COTE-SDRG, ASHRAE, others.  (Could also use a web literate person/programmer to help with the complicated parts)
  13. Coordinate official USGBC LEED training in Colorado
  14. Investigate USGBC Education Provider program (currently under development)
  15. Liaison to Emerging Green Builders (EGB) Colorado group
  16. Conduct and interpret periodic surveys
  17. Develop Green Advantage program (contractor training & certification)
  18. Colorado LEED case studies
  19. Educational materials for Colorado, County, & municipal legislators/officials
  20. Develop educational modules

EGB

  1. Plan and oversee EGB events and meetings           

Advocacy                       

  1. Coordinate, distribute information and conduct advocacy trainings
  2. Help organize technical industry roundtables
  3. Oversee an advocacy membership drive/grassroots network
  4. Contribute to the development of a Colorado municipal model code

Collaboration

  1. Oversee USGBC-Co conference registration, booth design procurement and setup
  2. Organize social networking events with key collaborators
  3. Summarize continuing education requirements

Events

  1. Help plan, organize and implement the USGBC-Colorado fall conference for September 20-22nd, 2007 in Fort Collins

Membership

  1. keep name tags, listserv, and prospect lists up to date
  2. Analyze and report on national and chapter membership status by:
    1. Location
    2. Industry sector
    3. Diversity
  3. Reach out to target member markets
  4. Recommend and implement creative membership benefits
