USGBC-Co is looking for volunteers to help
with the following items:
General
- Create, update and maintain chapter green
building resources
- Support branch development throughout
Colorado
- Connect new members with opportunities
to get involved
Northern Colorado
- Create membership informational form to
recruit members
- Connect new members and volunteers with
opportunities for involvement
- Input and update member information to
mailing list
- Assist in planning the USGBC-Colorado
fall conference
LEED Regional Credit Colorado Committee
- Participate in developing a western regional
credit for LEED v3
Green Schools
- Help draft a letter to PTA/Os inviting
teachers to participate in the Sustainable
Schools Summit
- Compile schools best practices
- Reach out to Schools leaders and administrators,
tell them about the importance of green
schools
- Green the Sustainable Schools Summit
Learn LEED®
- Plan monthly LEED certified building tours
- Support LEED AP exam Study Guide sales
- Organize LEED workshops and educational
sessions
- Coordinate LEED study groups
Communications
- Design USGBC-Colorado graphics
- Create, maintain, and update a variety
of database solution
- Write articles for Colorado Building Green
Newsletter
Education
- Oversee a K-12 green building competition
- Coordinate monthly evening programs
- Coordinate collaboration presentations
at monthly Chapter meetings (10 minutes
each by other organizations)
- Develop periodic tours
- Community outreach presentations: USGBC-Colorado
sustainability & LEED presentations
- Speakers Bureau
- Liaison with Governor’s Colorado
Energy Office
- Lunch presentations
- Lunch roundtable discussions on specific
topics
- Coordinate education activities with related
organizations
- Sustainable education programs for teachers
(K-12, college)
- Sustainable & local products, materials,
and services information on-line. Coordinate/collaborate
with AIA-COTE-SDRG, ASHRAE, others. (Could
also use a web literate person/programmer
to help with the complicated parts)
- Coordinate official USGBC LEED training
in Colorado
- Investigate USGBC Education Provider program
(currently under development)
- Liaison to Emerging Green Builders (EGB)
Colorado group
- Conduct and interpret periodic surveys
- Develop Green Advantage program (contractor
training & certification)
- Colorado LEED case studies
- Educational materials for Colorado, County, & municipal
legislators/officials
- Develop educational modules
EGB
- Plan and oversee EGB events and meetings
Advocacy
- Coordinate, distribute information and
conduct advocacy trainings
- Help organize technical industry roundtables
- Oversee an advocacy membership drive/grassroots
network
- Contribute to the development of a Colorado
municipal model code
Collaboration
- Oversee USGBC-Co conference registration,
booth design procurement and setup
- Organize social networking events with
key collaborators
- Summarize continuing education requirements
Events
- Help plan, organize and implement the
USGBC-Colorado fall conference for September
20-22nd, 2007 in Fort Collins
Membership
- keep name tags, listserv, and prospect
lists up to date
- Analyze and report on national and chapter
membership status by:
- Location
- Industry sector
- Diversity
- Reach out to target member markets
- Recommend
and implement creative membership benefits
