LEED v3.0
Dana Kose, USGBC CO Board Chair

This session will give participants the opportunity to learn about the recent changes made to not only the LEED rating system but also the LEED AP credential. LEED 2009 (v3.0) is not a “tear down and rebuild” of the LEED that exists in the market but rather a reorganization of the existing LEED Rating Systems along with several key advancements. LEED 2009 is the sum of several parts:

  • 1. LEED Prerequisite/Credit Alignment and Harmonization
  • 2. Predictable Development Cycle
  • 3. Transparent Environmental/Human Impact Credit Weighting
  • 4. Regionalization

Dana Kose will review each of these advancements in great detail and allow for audience questions.

The Path to LEED Platinum
Laura Charlier, Enermodal

In this session, we will present a case study documenting the path to LEED 2009 (v3.0) Platinum for Enermodal’s Denver office. The LEED process for this building was started using NC 2.2, but will be submitted under v3.0, so we will have a unique perspective on comparing the two versions. The session will focus on strategies for getting to Platinum under the new LEED 2009 rating system as well as what solutions were employed to move from the LEED NC 2.2 to LEED 2009. The following comparisons between the two systems and how to incorporate them successfully into your project will be addressed:

• Point breakdown

• Which credit and baseline requirements have changed

• Innovation Credits, What exactly is innovative these days?

• Regional credits for Colorado
