While the benefits of a green operations and maintenance program may be obvious to the manager and owner, the benefits are not always clear to existing tenants or potential tenants. Through LEED EB certification and adopting a green operations and maintenance program, a property manager is able to enhance not only actual value of a property, but bring value to those tenants looking for a green space.
Through a LEED EB certification a property manager is able quantify benefits such reduced energy consumption, increased occupant comfort, and operational savings from implementing recycling and environmentally preferred purchasing programs. Information gathered during this process can be leveraged to help tenants reach a LEED CI certification.
By providing information gathered for LEED CI such as details on Green Construction Standards, a green cleaning program, recycling, and water saving fixtures, a property manager can provide a new tenant with a suite of information that can bring a tenant fit out a long way towards meeting the requirements for achieving a LEED CI certification.
Through a short lecture presentation Katherine Wagenschutz will walk attendees through the key practices, policies and points implemented in a green O&M program that will provide value and information for tenants looking to occupy a green space and/or pursue LEED CI certification. Information will be presented to attendees through a short lecture followed by audience participation during Q&A. |
