In 2008, iCAST and its partners, Jefferson County Workforce Center, Colorado Department of Labor & Employment, the Metro Denver WIRED Initiative, and 19 industry partners delivered the first of a series of trainings as part of a Workforce Innovation & Regional Economic Development grant. The curricula for these trainings were developed and instructed by industry experts with decades of professional experience. These courses promote Green Jobs, prepare candidates for interviews, assist with resume writing, identify transferable skills, create a list of new skills required, and teach terminology and various renewable energy and sustainable building practices.
The process for determining the curriculum, administering enrollment and industry participation, and job placement efforts will be discussed in the session. iCAST will share its model for these projects and inform attendees of some of the tactics and strategies utilized to achieve the success that has been experienced. |
